Discrete genres and purpose-built sonic architectures have emerged literally everywhere. The Drone is Big. To drone is Long, stretching back beyond Eno, beyond the Gregorians, or even our aboriginal ancestors, beyond nature, whale song, wind and ice, beyond even the songs of the planets and stars. It is emergent worldwide as a vehicle to express the inexpressible.
Now, for one hundred and eleven hours of unbroken live performance, these various forms that might never have come together otherwise will erupt, collide, merge and separate at an esteemed venue in Topanga Canyon, Los Angeles, California.
From Wednesday December 1st through Sunday December 5th Corazon Performing Arts will host ‘UP the DRONE’ a milestone drone fest with a ‘no-dead-air’ protocol. It is not to be missed. The veils are already beginning to tremble at the very idea that a bunch of awkward artists might actually try to pull this off.
